I realized that’s there’s more than a couple of you who can’t see the pictures from this weekend, so I’ll pop them all up here now, with additional commentary!!! Enjoy:

The front entrance… cute girl at the bottom of the screen would be with me.

Everland’s an interesting place… part theme park, part zoo… they definitely take the European style. This place reminded me of Flamingo Land in England, just built on one giant hill. Thankfully I’m used to that now…
This place has all the typical rides… Here’s the typical splash ride that you see everywhere. Only difference is this one they cover your lower body in what amounts to a tarp. Kind of eliminates the splash part of this ride… by far the lamest one of these I’ve ever been on.

The old spin until you throw up ride… this would be part of the American Adventure part of Everland. Right about now I think Seung Hee mentioned we should take pictures while we’re on this ride. What follows is not my fault:

My excuse for not shaving… lost a bet. Here’s the first picture…

We were kind of bored waiting for the bleeding thing to start…

I think it started.

Turns out she’s got some powerful pipes on her… found that out on the first ride we did
. It just gets sillier from here out…

My kids sometimes tell me that I can make really funny faces. I’m starting to believe them…

You can probably tell… the ride’s over.

They had an old-fashioned wooden rollercoaster here… and dear God is it fun. It’s the best of the old combined with some new awesomeness. Had a helluva steep first drop on it and then it was just a crazy good ride. Had a weird gimmick at the front though…
Like most rides, there was a sign telling you how long the wait was. Only problem is that the sign was totally wrong, but in a good way. We walked up there three times, and each time the sign read 80, then 110, and then 120 minutes. We balked when we first walked up and saw 80. When we came back and saw 110, I said a couple of choice words in English before we jumped in line. A good thirty minutes later, we were on the ride. Last time when we saw 120, it didn’t even faze me. Of course, the line was about forty minutes. Pleasant surprise, but just a bit odd.

So Korean culture is an odd one at times. They’ve got these things called couple shirts. From the pictures you can gather exactly what’s involved… this can go anywhere from a simple t-shirt to a full on outfit. While standing in line for one of the rides here, I saw my first couple outfit that included the couple shoes… I had to fight from laughing too hard. Didn’t exactly win that fight…
Ended up snapping these pictures once we started the “count the couple shirts” game when we were standing in line. At the last count, I think we ended up with 35.

This is why Koreans are a little scared of me. I’m a giant white gorilla to them… especially the tinier kids. They don’t know what to make of me sometimes. It’s fair, because I’m the biggest and strangest-looking thing that some of them have ever seen.

Had to do the obligatory “Hey we’re a couple” picture as well.

They really pull off the visual illusion trick well here. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but when you’re just walking around it does look mighty impressive. This is the top of the hill and the rest of the park is below you, so you just see the painted landscapes all the way back. Like I said, quality work.

If it wasn’t for the fact that it’d be so oppressively hot in the summer, I would love to come back just to look at the hillsides throughout the day. And again… man that was a fun roller coaster. Wish they’d scheduled maintenance on the other two coasters for some different Saturday, so overall, I’ll have to rate Everland a good incomplete. The other coasters sure did look fun though.

Sure was a pretty place from up high.
